Brendan Rodgers has finally received good news as the Liverpool coach was notified that Daniel Sturridge is back in action and fully recovered from the calf injury that the English forward had sustained a few months ago.
The last time that Sturridge made an appearance for Liverpool was back in August 31 when his teammates defeated Tottenham with a convincing scoreboard of 3-0. Injuries have troubled Sturridge in the start of this season as he sustained a thigh injury on September 5 after playing at the international stage with England and the medical staff announced that he would be out of action for around 6 weeks but things took a turn for the worse as Sturridge sustained a calf injury during a warm up session with his team.
Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert have not been able to step it up during the absence of Daniel Sturridge as neither of those players have managed to score goals consistently or make any real impressive performance for the Premier League club.
The return of Daniel Sturridge arrives in a much needed moment for Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool as they have suffered their 2nd successive Premier League defeat after having lost against Newcastle United and Chelsea.
Liverpool is not only struggling in the Premier League but also in the Champions League as they are located in the bottom of Group B after only being able to collect 3 points from the 4 matches which has been played.
Raheem Sterling expressed his relief after being informed that Daniel Sturridge has been training with the rest of his Liverpool teammates and that he is ready to play in the upcoming Liverpool match which will take place on November 23 at the Selhurst Park as Liverpool faces off with Crystal Palace and Sturridge is expected to make his return after being sidelined for over 2 months due to injury.
“It will be a massive boost to have Daniel back playing. We have missed him and the more quality players you have fit and available the better. He gives us that threat in the box and he scores goals. We’re all really looking forward to having him back in the team’’ Raheem Sterling told the media as he stated just how important and the impact that Daniel Sturridge makes with Liverpool.
